In Minnesota, precinct caucuses are held every two years, typically in early February (next one is February 3, 2026).

What is caucus?
A caucus is a local neighborhood meeting run by a political party — usually held in schools, churches, or community centers — where citizens come together to:

  1. Talk about issues and values that matter to them,
  2. Elect delegates who will represent their views at local and state party conventions, and
  3. Support or endorse candidates for public office.
It’s the first step in shaping who gets endorsed, what your party stands for, and even what laws get proposed later.

Who Can Participate?
  • You must live in the precinct where the caucus is held.
  • You must be eligible to vote (or will be by the next election).
  • You can only caucus with one major party (Republican or /Democrat).
Why It Matters

Caucus night is where ordinary citizens become the voice of their communities.
It’s your chance to help shape your party’s platform, support candidates who share your values, and make your faith and convictions heard in government.

If you live in Senate District 44, the Republican Caucus will be held a John Glen Middle School, 1560 County Road B E, Saint Paul, MN 55109 7:00 PM.  If you live out of the district all locations will be posted by January 14th on the SOS website.

A party platform is a written statement of what a political party believes and what it plans to do.
It outlines the party’s values, priorities, and the policies it supports on major issues. All Major parties have one.

Do Christian Values Align with the Republican Platform?

Yes — deeply and unmistakably.
Here’s how biblical values connect directly with official Republican principles:

1. The Right to Life

Christian Value:
Life is sacred and created by God — “You knit me together in my mother’s womb.” (Psalm 139)

Republican Platform Statement:
“We assert the sanctity of human life and affirm that the unborn child has a fundamental right to life which cannot be infringed.”  (Republican National Platform)

Why They Align:
Republicans are the only major party committed to defending the unborn and protecting innocent life — a core Christian conviction.

2. Small Government, Individual Liberty & Responsibility

Christian Value:
God calls individuals to steward their own lives, work diligently, and use freedom responsibly. -Galatians 5:13 (NIV)
“You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.”

Republican Platform Statement:
“We believe government should be limited, so that individuals and families can have more liberty, more responsibility, and more control over their own lives.”
(MN GOP Principles)

Why They Align:
Less government means more freedom, more personal responsibility, and fewer burdens on families — exactly what Scripture teaches.

3. Strong Families & Parental Rights

Christian Value:
God created the family as the foundation of society, and parents are to train their children in truth.

“These commandments… are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road…”Deut. 6:6–7 (NIV)

Republican Platform Statement:
“We support the right of parents to direct their children’s education, medical care, moral upbringing, and religious training.”
(Republican National Platform)

Why They Align:
Republicans believe parents — not bureaucrats — should shape a child’s values, education, and future.

 4. Fiscal Stewardship

Christian Value:
Leaders must act with honesty and avoid waste
“It is required that stewards be found faithful.” (1 Cor 4:2)

Republican Platform Statement:

“We call for fiscal responsibility, balanced budgets, and eliminating wasteful government spending.”
(Republican National Platform)

Why They Align:
Government must steward taxpayer dollars wisely, not funnel billions into unaccountable NGOs or political nonprofits. Fiscal responsibility is a moral issue.

5. Law, Order, Safety & Justice

Christian Value:
God establishes civil authority to protect the innocent and punish wrongdoing.

Republican Platform Statement:
“We support strong law enforcement, safe communities, and the rule of law applied equally to all.”
(MN GOP Principles)

Why They Align:
Republicans prioritize safety, justice, and stability — all biblical truths necessary for communities to thrive.

6. Freedom of Religion

Christian Value:
Believers must be free to worship God, share the Gospel, and live according to Scripture.

Republican Platform Statement:
“We support the right to live, work, and worship according to one’s conscience without government discrimination or penalty.”
(Republican National Platform)

Why They Align:

Republicans defend the right of Christians to practice and express their faith publicly — without fear of punishment or censorship.
